Stop waiting for GPT4o HER MODE you should be using these AI apps instead
I made this video on my channel because I am fascinated by voice interaction.
Ever since the movie Her came out, people have been trying to have real conversations with computers.
OpenAI recently released GPT-4o, and even though the advanced voice mode is delayed until the fall, there are still a lot of ways to use your voice to be more productive.
Keep reading below for the full summary and the link to the video on my channel.
You can talk up to three times faster than you can type. I use voice for four main categories: search, dictation, transcription, and having content read to me.
Even without the new GPT features, these tools are already changing how I interact with my phone and desktop.
Powerful Dictation
I use a few different tools for dictation.
On my iPhone, I have the action button set as a shortcut to start a voice conversation with ChatGPT immediately.
I also use a Chrome plugin called Aqua for drafting emails. It allows me to just free flow my thoughts without worrying about formatting or typing.
For the desktop, Superwhisper is great because it lets you create custom workflows to reformat your speech into bullet points or specific message styles.
Meeting Notes
For meetings, I have a few different options.
If it is an in person meeting, I use a piece of hardware called Plaud.ai. It sticks to the back of my phone and can even record phone calls.
If you need something for legal notes, Wave is a good choice.
A lot of my friends also love an app called Granola. It is a desktop notepad that listens to your meetings and uses AI to fill in the rest of your notes based on just a few words you type.
Listening Tools
When I want to consume content instead of creating it, I use the ElevenLabs Reader app. You can upload PDFs or articles and listen to them being read by very high quality, realistic voices.
It is a great way to get through your reading list while you are on the go.
Conclusion
Voice AI is more than just a novelty. It is a tool that can help you search, write, and stay organized much faster than using a keyboard.
I am excited to see how much more natural these interactions become when the next wave of updates arrives.
For now, these apps are already making a huge difference in my daily routine.
